Hi, Interesting to speculate because the definitive answer is out there somwhere, but this looks like a 1893 Duryea. A number of similar high wheelers were made in the USA during this period which featured transverse springs, Haynes to mention but one. This car could be a replica but one of our experts thinks it may even be a genuine car. Straight axle wheras Duryea also used slanting front axle. Mid position drive cog wheras Duryea also use low level drive cog. I note the general speculation as to the motive power in use at the time, but petrol, electric and steam cars were all being made and used. Regards Vintman |

I was looking through the 'just a car guy web site and found this article - Link to "justacarguy.blogspot.co.nz" - which I thought looked familiar. It proves that this car is 'made for movie'! |
