"JustV12" a écrit Has anyone noticed the Cadillac station wagon (Estate car or "shooting brake") that was used in the episode "Master Class"?

This car is quite special actually it is one of only SEVEN 1956 Caddies made into wagons by Hess and Eisenhardt.
The same company that converted Jag XJ-S to drop top form in the '80's.

H+E have been around as bespoke coach builders for quite some time and also built the very car that Kennedy was assassinated in.

I was very excited to see it yet I cannot find it identified here anywhere.
Again it is in the epsiode "Master class" and it is a 1956 Cadillac station wagon, which was NEVER made by General Motors.
All wagons and hearse conversions were carried out by coach-builders.

Anyone?

 Hess & Eisenhardt View Master, based on a 129" Series 62 chassis. Excellent find! :-)

Excellent isn't it?
The essence of American cars in the fifties.
Big, chrome and custom as well!
Can't beat that.

Thank you Sandie.

Hi there, I saw this and felt I had to comment because I have seen this exact car in a warehouse/car dealership called "Dream Cars" in Redhill in Surrey in the UK. I went to Dream cars today actually, and the stock had changed since I had been last time. At the back was this Cadillac station wagon which I had never seen before, and I did some googling and sure enough it turned out to be a Viewmaster custom built by Hess & Eisenhardt. I took a couple photos, not knowing at the time the car's rarity and value, and then looking at this forum and the photo of this Cadillac, I saw a pale green label in the windshield, which, when I looked back at my photo, was in the windshield of that car too. Also in the first side window was a label which said "Southern California", then on top, "Pre-50", which I see is in the car window in the photo above. This car was just sitting in this oil stained warehouse with tens of other American cars of the same period, and I will post a link to a photo I took (which I put on Tumblr this evening)

So there you have it, this car is the same as the one in this photo! (Notice the sticker in the front windshield)
