It was a surprsing sight, when I spotted an ALDI at my US-driveaway-trip in 1993, and then in Lafayetteville/AR)  - the heartland of Walmart, as I've learned due an interesting reportage on an US-channel last week. Btw. There's still one "made for ALDI"-product left in our food locker.
