It's also a Grand Caravan (longer wheelbase). |

It's a Grand Voyager, not a Caravan. Caravans had split grills. Haha, I've watched that show forever, and I've noticed theres no identification badges on it at all. I guess they just wanted to use the stereotypical minivan. |

I KNEW IT! See antp, I don't get every one wrong (see the front page, where I said I think it was a Grand Voyager). |

I am certain that is a Grand Caravan. Compare the grilles on these two vans: http://www.wrhs.org/cfm/auto/images/1990plymouth.jpg http://www.allpar.com/model/images/89van.jpg Notice that all the horizontal bars on the Plymouth are chromed, while the Dodge only has the two distinct bars. |

In this photo that van looks like a voyager to me also...but on every other site i searched they credit the van as a dodge grand caravan. here is one site I found http://www.answers.com/topic/dodge-caravan I also learned there was a turbo 4banger with a 5 speed manual offered...now thats a wierd combo for a minivan, lol. -- Last edit: 2006-08-10 06:19:11 |

It's hard to tell from this picture, you'd really have to watch the show. |

People usually credit the Chrysler Town & Country and Plymouth Voyagers as Caravans, just like my cousins call their Town & Country a Caravan. I am %90 sure its a Grand Voyager, just look at it! |

In the UK the Town & Country (that's a bit of long winded name) is sold as the Chrysler Voyager, the first model had the same facia as Dodge Caravan. |

I think that it is the same for other European countries. |

But all that visually separated the Voyager and Caravan (once you removed the badges), was the grille. I'm almost completely certain that's a Caravan grille. For what it's worth, when I was younger, my parents owned a Grand Caravan that was nearly identical (no wood panelling, but it had the same wheels and colour). |

Im gonna say it's a 1990 Grand Voyager LE. I think it's curious how the middle window opens up. |

Must have been modified specifically for the show. |

It's an 87-90 voyager. My mom had one just like it. |

I say it should be bumped up to five stars, since it is part of the show. (It is mentioned that "Crappy minivans" are part of the family's heritage) |

I do not think that it deserves that statut even for this reason. |

It is definitely a 1990 Grand Voyager. No doubt about it. |

Why specifically 1990? The Grand Voyager had this same body style from 1987-1990. |

Maybe he saw an airbag in one of the episodes. |
|
◊ 2010-10-20 00:36 |
Actually, there was no airbag until the 1991 redesign but I was going on the wheel design. Their similar to the ones on our old 1988 but not the same. Those looked like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:OldDodgeCaravan-non.jpg |

Thanks, cieraguy. I forgot vans and light trucks were not required to have an driver's airbag until the '94 model year. |

I don't remember the sliding door having a sliding window, was that added in latter episodes? ![]() |
