Also if seems they shown Russian plate(cyrillics graphic),really that was Bulgarian;for that reason, the car isn't a true Russian Moskvitch 2138-2140,but its Bulgarian,CKD-made version, the Balkan Rila(after the name of a Bulgarian mountain)1360(1.3)/1500(1.5) PS The mymetic-painted Moskvitch isn't a 2140(look at back optical groups, they are those of a 1967-1976 Moskvitch 408-412;for be those of a Moskvitch 2140 must had a matt black stripe with slim-line shaped lights inserted and don't shown triangular-separated elements on back fins);could be,therefore,or a Moskvitch 412 or its Bulgarian counterpart Balkan Rila 1400 More infos at Balkan voice in Wikipedia |

For the first of the pics posted by stronghold I'm positive is Bulgaria: is the beginning (or the end) of the Boulevard Vitosha, the building on the rear (left) should be now the Sheraton Hotel and under the one on the right there is a Mexican restaurant where I had dinner just a couple of hours ago I 'll try to make a picture "of now" to confirm when I pass around there. -- Last edit: 2006-10-04 21:02:14 |

The white on black number plates are old Bulgarian ones: http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/world/EU_BULG.html |

Not all of them are 2140, the black car is older 408/412. Edit: in Bulgaria 2138 and 2140 were known as 1360 and 1500. -- Last edit: 2011-06-01 13:09:03 |
