It is a 1960 model : it has the narrow chrome slat extending from the front fender to the rear edge of the door.This was lacking on the earier 1958 and 1959 cars.Model designation 6003-1 |

are you sure, I've check about Rambler American , I found only picture of the 4 Door Sedan and it doesn't match exactly , especially shape of front latéral widow (central pillar is vertical on the sedan 4 doors)  |

The centre pilar was indeed straight on the four door sedan, but at an angle of about 60° on the two door sedan and on the station wagon ,so the shape of the front lateral window was automatically different.Windshield is the same.It is a 1960 Rambler American two door of 1960 , the only year of that model ,built 1958-1960, with the narrow chrome slat on the sides of the car.The model was modernised for 1961. |

Super or Custom trim as the Deluxe did not have side spear. 1958 to 1960 Rambler American Identification: So far as I can tell from a review of available documentation and photos, these 3 years looked identical from the front and rear. The only difference is in the side nameplates and trim. 1958: Deluxe and Super lines. No side trim (spear) on any model. "Rambler American" toward the REAR of front fenders. Super models have bright trim at base of side windows and front/rear window bright borders. Deluxe models have rubber borders. Two-door sedans only. 1959: Deluxe and Super lines. Same as 1958 except the side nameplates just say "American". Station wagon models added. 1960: Deluxe, Super and Custom lines. "American" nameplate moved to the FORWARD edge of the front fenders. Super and Custom models have side spears. No bright trim at the base of the side windows on ANY of the 3 lines. Four door sedan models added. |
