A Monterey because it has two tone paint and a chrome strip along the rocker panel. |

The tops extensions at the lower of the grille confuse with 53 (even with 52) and here could be an option of the car (?) but this is a 1954 model. These tops I say are the first time I see them in a 1954 model (optionals ?) but this car is from 1954 year because in 1953 the Monterey badge and name was just before the front door, front bumper got only one moulding where it wraps front fender (here two) and where the roof ends at the rear it had not badge for this hardtop (see thumbnail). 1953 http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/mercury/53merc.html http://www.cardatabase.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00112353 For 1954 front bumper got two mouldings as pic shows, badge for Monterey was a round at the front fender on the same chrome side trim and name of the car was at the rear (also as picture shows). On thumbnail also we see the badge for this hardtop where the roof ends (it lacked in 1953). 1954 Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/mercury/54mc1.html -- Last edit: 2011-08-19 11:13:43 |
