Unusual long wheelbase tipper as here 'ERS 378' a late Aberdeen registration. Grille positioned 'Bedford' badge without a Bedford shield shaped () fitted at the top, preserved example so cannot say if it actually as made originally. Front wings look unusual and bumper missing the valance? |

Yes - I think this is ERS 378 again (although in Whisky Galore it was made over as old and dilapidated - “The interesting thing about that truck was that it was immaculate and we had to distress it to make it look a bit older and more used than it was. The owner was very good about that and then we reinstated it again afterwards."). Same paint and A Muir door logo here. |

Thanks dsl, so later the missing oval badge was replaced. A minor point, however from around mid-1950 the oval badge was replaced with a full width B E D F O R D nameplate similar to the new S-type and the later A-type (also Vauxhalls at the time). Whether or not this continued until 1952 I cannot determine but many were either never fitted or turned to rust later I guess. -- Last edit: 2020-05-28 13:20:49 |
