Has a British look about it -pre war Bedford captured in France ? |

It's certainly not unlike a Bedford WL or WT from before the war, but AFAIK the War Department never used them. |

The British army had many pre war Bedfords , there were thousands impressed from civilian owners and sent to France with the BEF in 1939/1940 . All were captured by the Germans after Dunkirk. Link to "www.kfzderwehrmacht.de" The fuel tank on this looks wrong though for a Bedford or is it a locker? -- Last edit: 2011-04-08 14:47:06 |

@JCB: I never knew that, thanks; I'd guess this is a 1934+ Bedford WT. It's probably a fuel tank; I do know the Germans modified captured British vehicles pretty indiscriminately. |
