Used a lot, but it is not 'Herbie Truck', so 4**** are enough. It's a british Fordson 7V. http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/fordson-7v.htm But I have a doubt. I'm almos sure this was assembled in Barcelona by Ford (1948 by the plate). This site (Ford-Ebro) says 1931 http://www.anguera.com/galeria/ford.htm#fordavanzada but I think it's wrong about the year. Do you know if this kind of truck was assembled by Ford in Spain? How to list it? Ford or Fordson? -- Last edit: 2011-03-15 12:35:59 |

This is unmistakeably a Fordson Thames 7V, built under licence by Ford Iberica in Barcelona between 1942-8. (From Online Truckers) FORD SPAIN 1920 - 1936 & 1940 - 1954 Apart from the civil war years British designed Ford trucks were built under licence by Ford Motor Iberica in Barcelona until an entirely new British designed range was developed from 1954 and was launched as the Ebro two years later. |

As usual, great Chris. I have found this picture in the forum camionesclasicos.com http://www.camionesclasicos.com/FORO/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=8786 It comes from an old 1991 magazine but it says Ford 7V. As you said, I think it's more accurate to leave the truck as Fordson 7V built in Spain. -- Last edit: 2011-03-16 10:54:21 |

@vilero: I've had another look at the Ford/Ebro site you linked to. The 7V shown has the earlier, more elaborate grille, dating from 1937-42, so the date is indeed wrong. |
