Not a tractor, its a "baquet" (sport car based on a stock car or something) -- Last edit: 2011-02-27 02:49:40 |

It could be almost anything from the 1908-10 era. The radiator does not match the one on this Itala - http://www.vccansw.org/photos/img228.jpg - or this one - http://files.conceptcarz.com/img/Itala/08_Itala_RaceCar_BY-05_MDB_01.jpg It almost looks, in the main picture, to have some letters on the front of the top tank of the radiator - or is that an optical illusion? Unfortunately, this style of radiator which Mercedes introduced in about 1903, became a sort of standard which many makers copied with small variations for about 10 years. |

I am fairly sure that this car is a Mercedes from around 1907-1909. A google image search of Mercedes of this era will find that many people are unable to distinguish between Mercedes and Benz at this time when they were entirely separate companies. There are several instances where the surviving 1908 Benz GP car is listed as a Mercedes. |
