130rapid ◊ 2015-09-22 10:53	I've noticed prewar 170V Cabriolet B had two types of windshield frame. Typ 1 visible on this page - oldfashioned but more elegant look with thinner pillars. Probably this frame was independent element, added to body. Typ 2 - thicker pillars, rounded windshield. Probably the frame was extruded as single steel element, together with firewall. And I can't find a year key. It looks like they're use simultaneous. I suppose typ 2 was made in Sindelfingen, typ 1 completed by some coachbuilder on Mercedes demand. What do you think?
andrepa ◊ 2015-09-30 00:46	seems to be the right conclusion as Typ 2 windscreen frame is pressed steel of sedan in factory while Typ 1 is made like VW Karmann Cabrio by fitting new elements to firewall at some coachbuilder
