For the plate, and the situation in the 80's GMA, its 1985+. Not a 1980, this is the only imported version. |

Are you sure? I think that all across the global market, GM trucks were at least updated when the refresh came in 1981. I did a search for Chevy trucks from Argentina and came up with this one from 1987: Link to "www.deautos.com" It has the front end that was also used in North America at the time. |

Yes, im sure here. GM retires to the final the 70's and come back in Argentina in 1985 with this pick up built by Sevel: http://www.cocheargentino.com.ar/c/chevrolet_pick_up_sevel.htm But, the Chevy of the pic, its the imported version Cheyenne, sold with the local built C-10. Okay, I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly so let me try my spanish. Lo que dices es que esta troca no fue hecha para venderse en Argentina porque las trocas Chevrolet se vendieron primero en 1985 como modelos de 1986? Entonces por eso esta debe de ser una troca que fue importada? Estoy correcto? |

@ Ford_guy: Entiendo inglés. Lo que me referia, es que esta linea "Cheyenne" era importada a partir de 1985, complementando la producción local (que viste en el link). Por la placa, es de a partir de 1985. GM se retiro del mercado a fines de los 70's y volvio gracias a Sevel, con esta camioneta. La gama local (Custom, Silverado y la diesel) se complementaba con esta Cheyenne importada desde USA. Y si, lo correcto es que esta fue la 1º camioneta Chevrolet importada desde la vuelta de la marca, en 1985. En 1986 empezo la producción local. -- Last edit: 2010-12-20 04:00:40 |

Desafortunadamente no entendia tu inglés muy bien. No es posible que esta troca sea 1985 porque en los Estados Unidos y otras partes del mundo, esta frente solo se uso con los modelos 1980. Aparte, el nombre "Cheyenne" fue retirado de esta generacion de trocas con las ultimas trocas del model 1981. No sera mas probable que esta troca se importo a Argentina privadamente y fue registrada en 1985, explicando la placa? |

Esta bien. Te comento algo: Cuando GM se retira, se generan "stocks" sin vender hasta 1980 aproximadamente, pero eran de las camionetas fabricadas aquí. Incluso, lo más seguro es que sea importada a principios de los 80's. Recuerda que acá se cerraron casi por completo las importaciones en 1982 con la guerra de Malvinas. Back to english  Couldn't another possibility for the plate besides a late registration for this truck be that it doesn't belong to this truck in the first place? It's done a lot here in the USA when filming movies. Cars are given plates that belong to other vehicles. |

Sometimes, yes... but, in the local productiones, the plates are real, and for these cars. Its uncommon to see a fake plates or plates for other cars. Who knows, but almost i can see, coincides with the year and the time of the vehicle.
