Together with wiper-blades these lamps were some of the very few car-parts, the DDR could made in Western quality - which means, that they could export it for Western money. As they've done with every kind of product, which come narrow to Western quality, in their desperate hunting for Western currency. They even have sold artefacts out of museums, cobblestone-plaster out of the streets in historic towns and locations for depositing garbage. But the best paid export-products were political prisoners. Depending on the profession, they earned between 20.000 $ and 40.000 $ per piece, cough person. -- Last edit: 2010-10-28 22:45:28
