This is a 1974 - 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow (I) Standard Saloon U.S. market version. The outside mirror is the giveaway, and shows it is not a Silver Shadow II! Also, the moviue is from 1975, and the Shadow II did not arrive until 1977.

For Christ sake, all this elements were introduced in mid 1973 for 1974 model year cars.

OK,what is the exact year for this car?? If this is a US spec car,it's a 73 by looking at it.If this is something else, fine, what year then?

One more question for you,130rapid.If this is a 74 according to you, where are the larger flared wheel arches introduced in 74??

As posted last page,130rapid is and administrator of this site, has access to the movie studios records,so it makes little sense to bother with posting any comments about much of anything. His knowledge is what he gets from some source we do not have. His asshole attitude in the above post of his shows this know it all attitude he has.The studio that owns this photo claims it is a 74,so then it must be.I owned a 79 SSll,and was a member of the RROC and try to speak from observation and experience, not arrogance.

Gordy, we tend to be no assholes on this page.
The problem with dating cars is often a question of definition. Do we give the actual year, or do we give the model year. This choice has been the source of many discussions and misunderstandings.
Usually on imcdb we mention the (first possible) model year. That's why this car is listed as 1974.

As everyone agrees SS1, change from SS2 ....

I didn't define 'the model year rule' on IMCDb but I respect it. That's 05/1973 cars are registered here as 1973, however 07/1973 as 1974.

BMW has excellent www.realoem.com on-line parts' catalogue giving quite precise (by months) dates of modifications.
Czech Trabant Club page gives full source of (e.g. 601) models' changes.
Pity, we haven't even little similar web source for Bentley T / RR Silver Shadow.
Or there is but I don't know about yet.

Gordy, can you describe when this changes came with year & month of introduction if possible?
We're starving such precise knowledge here.

It's rewarding bad behaviour by being nice to him. On most other sites calling a moderator "asshole" will get your account suspended.

No, I'm not rewarding, still waiting for the simply answer 'I know better source' with link, prospect scan, whatever, if possible instead 'I know' just.

Today I trust Silver Shadow page much more than Gordy, however it can change.

With whole respect 'I know' knowledge it's not enough here to make a little revolution with Silver Shadows' model years.

It is certainly seems to be a pity that people misbehave about a car made so ugly by U.S.legislation...lol
