I bet a crate of beer (German or Czech - sorry, right now the workbench is my only Romanian made thing in the house), that this scene is footage, made before the 25th December 1989. |

Oh, not such solid and valuable stuff, just this cheap Link to "webshopcenter24.de" This is enough. |

The next Romanian product will appear soon in my family. My brother-in-law has odered a new Dacia Duster. A propos Dacia: in the 2011-ADAC-breakdown-statistics the Sandero made the 2nd place in the class of the small cars. Behind the MINI. For a backward-orientated car-freak like me, a very extraordinary, in the past unthinkable thought: the most reliable car is British made, followed by a Romanian |

He had a Logan MCV until last year, bought in the age of 6 months. Generally he was satisfied, reliable technic, very cheap garage-prices. Just rust was a problem. In the first months the Dacia-dealer hd repaired it for free in the warranty-time. Very spacious inside, but o.k., you could see by the interior, that it is a cheap car. |

No idea about these cars, you are mentioning. Noone around me has them. |

The Logan is meant to be a cheap car though. You cannot really expect a luxurious, high quality car for the price you pay. It's a relatively simple car for people who only need a simple car. Besides, in an era of increasing complexity, basic cars with few features are IMO quite refreshing. And it's not like the complexity makes our lives any better. Modern cars may be safer but in most other respects many of the added features don't really add anything to make our lives much better. And if we are going to slam it for rust, then rust is a problem for many cars. One of the worst offenders being Mercedes a supposed prestige brand. If they have problems with it then we cannot really be too harsh on Dacia for it. |

I'm not harsh about Dacia, I fully agree, with your opinion - and the Dacia-customers mainly do that, too. Everyone knows, why it has this price. And for that price it's o.k. Same goes for other brands, too. The ADAC had made a poll about the owner's contentedness. One of the results was, that the average Lada-owner is more satisfied with his car than many Mercedes-owners, despite a Lada belongs to the unreliable cars. They know end expect it, when they purchase one. Indeed, Mercedes- and VW-owners aren't often not happy and sometimes disappointed with their cars. The most satisfied car-owners in Germany are the Suzuki-drivers, followed by Subaru and Porsche. -- Last edit: 2012-05-06 15:22:33 |

They would tell you, that grey and black are most suitable colors. Ergonomics, safety etc etc.. |

Sorry, but not all. For bargain hunters there is a basic model, without these features (o.k., incl. airbags). The missing AC was the reason, why my brother-in-law has sold his Logan MCV after three years. |

There will be a new Dacia soon.. It´s called the Lodgy. If you buy the Prestige model, it´s very well equipped: Fog lights, 16" alloys, park distance control (only at the back), a new Sat-Nav system with a touchscreen and important for familys: the electronic stability control |

Maybe it had that features, too, I don't know, although once I made a short ride with it across the village. But in any cas it had no comfort-extras. But this is not Dacia-specific, other brands have these versions, too. For example Opel. My wife had owned an Astra G from the Bundeswehr Link to "www.ebay.de" Euphemistic named "Großkundenausführung" = "major customer version" - the pure naked version for authorities and fleets. With ABS, airbags, servo-steering and other safety-features, but without any comfort-accessoire. 250 € were even a bargain price for mounting the radio. Just mounting, excluding the radio itself Because NOTHING for it was included. No speakers, antenna, antenna- and speaker-cables, nothing. It was a f*cking work to mount that stuff. -- Last edit: 2012-05-07 20:00:44 |

TBH, if people are too tight to buy the more expensive version they shouldn't complain when they find the cheapest one is not well enough equipped for their liking. Quite frankly, it serves them right. Buy a used car or save up a few hundred pounds more for a dearer model. |

These hype-naked versions have indeed one advantage, if you want to save money. Due the missing extras -less weight and less electricity-consumption- and thinner tires, they have really a lower fuel consumption. My wife has compared her 1.7 dti-Astra with identical motorized, but better equipped Astras, and noone could beat their Astra's 3.8 liters on 100 km (smooth Autobahn-driving with max.100-120 km/h, no full throttle-orgies, no town-traffic). If the day will come, when I will be able to purchase my dream-car, the 300 SEL 6.3, I will choose an extra-free model. Not airconditon, no sunroof, no foglights (cW-value!) etc. |

We have got a brand new Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost Turnier Titanium at my work. We´ve tested who of my colleagues could drive with the least amount of fuel. It has the new 3-cylinder engine (with turbo) which has 125 hp. The best result were 4.4 liters on 100 km... Not bad for a well equipped and 1500 kg wagon. |
