I think these lamps are tuning lamps.

It surely looks like aftermarket headlights.

VW offered similar Xenon headlights with Caravelle editions 'Business' and 'Panamericana', but always in conjunction with a headlamp cleaning device, which we don't see here. Therefore it's just an aftermarket gadget, probably by tuning supplier projektzwo.

Or worse, a plastic piece with two holes to simulate two round headlights when you only have one basic rectangular unit. :D

Maybe it was assembled in Taiwan! My Japanese friend told me, that the T4 was built there from licensed CKD-kits. I don't know, if there are any visible details to the German origin.
He told me, that you should avoid them because of the poor quality. Sometimes some of them came to Japan, so smart Japanese T4-buyers check the country first.

Today Hiroshi told me a few more details about the Taiwan-assembled VW T4. A friend of him owns one. There are two big differences to the German origin one:
- no heating.
- a karaoke-system for the back passengers. :wow: No kidding!
A Taiwanese fellow of him has confirmed that. And that it's no unusal in Taiwan, that mid- and big-size Vans have that. Maybe caused by the fact, that the system of public transport is not really developed there and the people always have to travel by car, expecially families.
