The space between the vents in engine lid isn't too big like for the 1303?

These taillights was only used on 1303 (and late, Mexican 1200 etc. But did they come with this colour?)

@DynaMike: no, as far I know, this colour wasn't available after 1973, so at the 1303-times.

They are the elephant-foot-lamps, but here definetely not original. The back fender is from annother model-year and not meant for these lamps.
And the vents in the hood aren't original, too, as they are in different sizes.

Due the colour and the little banana-vents in the C-pillar it's seems to be an 1971 1302, which got cobbled on later these lamps and the engine-lid.

Or maybe it's something Brazilian? Weren't there made engine-lids with such "uneven" vents? Were Brazilian made VW's exported to Europe? Maybe to the Canary Islands (it seems to have a GC-plate), due their different import- and tax-laws? In my 1971-75 VW-export-statistics, Spain and the Canary Islands are listed seperately.

I'd say its a 1302 LS with the backlights of the 03 series, they even look as they are positioned to deep...

It's one of the bunch of Brazilian VW imported to Canary Island in mid to late 70's. Is 100% Original.

So 1302 is wrong here, as this model was never built in Brazil. What would be correct?

It seems, that the strict, pre-1986 Spanish import-laws weren't valid for the Canary Islands. I've seen in the VW-export-statistics from 1971-1975, where I have copies from, that of some models were twice as much shipped to there, than to the rest of Spain.

P.S. The "LS"-trim is wrong here anyways, "LS" were named only the Cabriolets.

Exact Ingo, Canary island as well as Ceuta and Melilla were free ports at the time, so they received cars that were seldom seen on the continental Spain. Even some cars barely seen anywhere but their country of origin, like those brazilian VW's.

No, Ingo not only the cabrios were availible in LS trim, the 02 series were availible as LS too (1302(A)/1302 S/1302 LS), but this one is not a 1302, look at the position of the backlights, we had this one once a while before, south african bug! http://www.usedcarsouthafrica.com/upload/2010/05/s2316103823.jpeg
