no, by the indicators on the fender its an older one, pre-1975. exactly a 1974-model (1200 sedan, no 1303-super beetle, but elephant-foot-backlamps). @rljuna2: these wheels (steel, not aluminium or magnesium) were an optional extra. at first released in end of 1972 for the "gelb-schwarzer renner", a 1303-special model. later on available for all other typ 1, too. a page about that special model: http://www.gelb-schwarzer-renner.com/ at last again annother ingo-anecdote once i had the chance to drive such a rare "gsr". a friend, who had my all-day-passat in his garage, gave his loved gsr to me as a spare-car, because i needed a car (he is no.73 on the "gsr"-owner-list). i knew about its rarity - but i didnt felt really comforatable: it was in a cold winter, and if "gelb-schwarzer renner" or not, the heating was not better as in regular 1303 super beetles -- Last edit: 2009-02-08 11:45:49 |

We have fender mounted turn signal/parking/side marker lamp assembly until end of the export to USA market. I understand that elsewhere market moved from fender to bumper lamp assembly after 1975. |
