Packard made two convertibles in '54. This one (the "regular" convertible) and the Carribean, which was a specialty model with its own unique side trim, continental spare and hood scoop instead of the Packard cormorant. The 5479 designation refers to the convertible model while 5431 is the series number (which includes both convertibles and the Pacific hardtop model). Series 5431 Pacific hardtop = 5477 Series 5431 Carribean convertible = 5478 Series 5431 regular convertible = 5479 (no special name, just Packard convertible) The above car is properly listed. |
