Now i officially know that this guy is full of it, This car is a Nismo 400R based on the R33 Skyline chassis. This is a very limited production car and absolutely nothing like the Skyline in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The car that was used in The Fast And The Furious 2 was a R34 this is a R33

Man, they ruined a perfectly good Skyline. I believe it is not a 400R, although the bodykit looks a lot like it. I know that this was not used in 2 Fast 2 Furious because that one was an R34.

This car could smoke the R34 in the 2 fluffy 2 frivolous. They stuffed so much CRAP into that car that it became all show and no go. the 2200 pound car tipped the scales at 4500.

The car in question is a 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R. It is not a V-Spec. Nor is it a NISMO 400R. It is powered by a stock RB26DETT inline 6, twin turbo powerplant producing 276 Horsepower.

The car is currently owned by a man in Saudi Arabia, and was never registered in America. It was used as a stunt vehicle, for demonstration purposes, therefore never needed a License.

2200 pounds? A Skyline isn't that light on the freaking moon.

More like 3700 pounds.

umm 2200lbs? The R33 would never be that light weight for the size of it and how it would lose rigidity. This is not an Miata were talking about you know.

As 6 speed said, it's an R33 GT-R with standard bodykit, not a 400R. the 400R bodykit is a lot more wild in comparison.

The R33 GT-R weighs around 1540kg, or 3388lb. Yes exact specs are hard to find, but if you think about it, a standard '00 3 series coupe weighs around 1450kg; the Skyline has less luxury items, but countering this, the GT-R has a four-wheel-drive system, four wheel steer system (HICAS) and RB26 engine with twin turbos, rounding out the weight a little. Cutting back on the weight in crucial areas, the R33 GT-R has aluminium bonnet and front wings (fenders).

Regarding what mattOsmith said about the BCNR33 GT-R, everyone should note that the 400R features slight fender flares, and a much more aggresive front end, as well as the obligitory NISMO stripes down the side of it, under the greenhouse. It came in 6 color combos:

White with black lettering
Yellow with black lettering
Blue with silver lettering
Red with white lettering
Silver with black lettering
Midnight Purple with white lettering

The car is extremely rare, and only one is known to have been imported to the U.S.A. This BCNR33 GT-R was the first GT-R commissioned for road use in the US, I can tell you that for sure however. It was commissioned by the now defunct MotoRex.

For the information of everyone looking at this car, telling evryone what it is or isn't, anyone in England reading MAX POWER MAGAZINE just before the film will know that this was a feature car.

And will also know that this is not in fact a Nissan Skyline, it was nicknamed a "Skytegra" based on the fact that it is a Honda Integra, the chassis front and back were lengthened to fit the R-33 bodywork and accomodate the slightly larger R-33 engine.

This was the first and only car of its kind and yes, very rare as its a one of a kind. I still have the issue in my storeroom at home.

Hey bigmiddle, that's interesting. Are you sure they also transplanted the R33 engine? Did they rotate the engine to run in RWD config.? Or did they mate it to the FWD Integra gearbox? Because either way it sounds like a huge amount of hassle over just getting a Skyline in the first place. Forgive my ignorance, I've never seen the magazine. Some pics of engine and interior would be interesting, if you have any.

Hey mate,

I find this *incredibly* hard to believe, seeing as I own an R33 GT-R, and this car looks exactly like the real thing. Are you referring to the R34 "Skytegra" (not R33), which still has the roofline of a Honda Integra? (http://www. payhost.net /magazineexchange/acatalog/ Max_Power_TV_Special_Edition. html - delete the spaces) That car looks like sh*t. Again I find it very hard to believe that someone would go to all the expense and trouble of putting a Skyline body as well as internals into a Honda Integra, meanwhile, just buying an R33 GT-R would just be a fraction of the cost.
