Just like the one driven by Tom Cruise in The War Of The Worlds. except for the wheels which are stock. |

This is a 1966 Ford Mustang GT 350 link |

Was the regular GT 350 available in this paint scheme, or just the GT 350H? |

Shelby GT350. |

The paint scheme on this does suggest that its a GT350H but it could have just been painted to look like one. |

I was thinking it could be a GT-350H, but I couldnt make out the H clearly in the pic, This color scheme was available on regular production GT-350's as well |

It's probably a standard Mustang fastback painted up to look like a Shelby GT-350H. I say that as real Hertz's are pretty valuble cars and there weren't that many made yet all the bits to make a regular Mustang look like one and fool 90% of the public are easily & readily available. |

That is not a 1966 Shelby GT350H. Notice the exterior vents on the sail panel part of the roof? In 1966 those were replaced with fixed windows of the same shape. This car is most likely a 1965 or 1966 regular Mustang fastback which was painted and turned into a replica of a 1966 Shelby GT350H while ignoring the huge exterior difference between 1965 and 1966 Shelbys - the fixed window which replaced the vents (the vents remained on regular 1966 Mustang fastbacks however). Shelby replicas are commonplace and it is very likely the movie studio opted for a cheap alternative to a real Shelby whereas 99% of the viewing audience would probably never know the difference. |

mustang guy's right. It's a clone, but I'd expect a movie car to be anyway. |

I still currently own this mustang, its a 65 fastback k code, with 67 wheels. email me at race289@aol.com, This car got saved from rotting away to be in this movie. it is now 100 percent rust free but still has original suspension. I drive it every couple months. |
