The "ghost" truck is not the same one as the one that blows up. Just look at the rims, the headlight, the exhaust pipe and the fuel tank. :hello:

Well, Even though it's not the same model, it's supposed to be this truck after it was blown up. Also, the pictures are blurry because this truck was always in motion except for when it stops on the freeway but didn't show the front

It's too old to be a 4900 model. I think it's a 4964, Eighties model.

The only thing I liked better about this movie was that it was made better. Like in Maximum Overdrive, you could see the camera crew like everytime you looked at the chrome wheels! And they explained things a little better. How does that Mechanical Mule from Maximum Overdrive know Morse Code? Or how do the trucks control the power at the Dixie Boy Trucks Stop? And how does the Happy Toyz Co. truck control it's trailer's paint scheme (when Billy looks at it after it tries to kill the Bible Salesman the first time and there are four teers on the back end of the trailer)? But, Maximum Overdrive was way better, especially if you are looking for something entertaining.

There were 3 truck to represent the "Ghost Truck"
1. 1992 Western star 4964 shown up above
2. 1977 Western Star 4800 the one that was driving in the pits after it got blown up
3. 1973 White Western Star 4500 the one that got blown up and the one that jumped into the pond at the end

This truck is definitely not a '92. It has the exhaust and hood of a 1979 - 1985. The exhaust on a 1992 goes under the cab while a 1979 - 1985 goes beside the tanks. Also 1986 and later headlights touch the engine cover while this does not

if filmed in Canada, unless deactivated a 1992 should have DRLs..

I am back after doing some more research to find out this is either a 1984 or a 1985. This truck has the 1983 - 1985 cab and mirrors, and has the 1984 - 1985 Sleeper. Here are some random pictures of a 1979 (left) and a 1985 (right) I found on the internet so you can see the difference.

Did some research based on PlasterChief's comment (Sorry for the length of this comment): I analyzed this movie to the extreme, and I tried looking for any little details that could help identify if the year is 1984 or 1985 as PlasterChief mentioned. I tried looking at air cleaners, mirrors, fuel tanks, etc. But nothing was unique to one year. However, I noticed this...

This shot shows the inside of the cab, and on the bottom right we can see what I think is a grab iron or handle. I looked at a bunch of 4900 and 4964 models from 1980 to 1989, and I carefully looked to see if any had this small handle. This is where it gets interesting...

[Image: 84westernstar4964.jpg] [Image: 84westernstar49641.jpg] [Image: 84westernstar49642.jpg]

Of the about 30 trucks I looked at, only 3 had a handle that matched the cab. And ALL of these trucks were 1984s. I don't know if this means anything. But I find it very interesting how the truck in this movie has 1983-85 mirrors, a 1984-85 sleeper, and a cab handle that seems to be only prevalent on trucks from 1984.

Also here are the listings of the 1984 trucks I researched:
