The car is a 1991 Buick Park Avenue (base US/Canada model), the 1992-1994 Park Avenue (base US/Canada model) has the same exterior as this one but it's interior door panels are different. The 1995-96 has minor exterior trim changes. The Jetta is a 1985-87. |

Did you mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Buick_Park_Avenue_1.Version_rear.jpg Already visited at /vehicle_4269-Buick-Park-Avenue-1991.html . I still think the shape of the taillight is sooo cool! -- Last edit: 2009-02-21 00:32:51 |

Disgusting. American taillights always seemed to be ruined when they modify them for Europe. |

That's just a normal revenge when you see what US did to bumpers and headlights of some European cars |
◊ 2009-02-21 11:33 |
Yeah either way they're still cool Touché |

You mean Like these: Jaguar XJ /vehicle_7911-Jaguar-XJ6-XJ40.html Mercedes SL /vehicle_2398-Mercedes-Benz-SL-R107-1975.html Mercedes S-Class /vehicle_6851-Mercedes-Benz-300-SD-W126-1981.html The Reason america did this with european cars is because up until 1986 there was a law which said all headlights had to be round for safety reasons. BMW was unchanged when sent to america because it already had round headlights. |

@andrew Nicholson the law had nothing to do with the shape of the lights (there are plenty of pre 1986 US cars with Square lights) Composite headlights were forbidden in America until 1986 |

Composite headlight were introduced for the first time in 1983 on Lincoln Continental Mark VII cars. Link to "en.wikipedia.org" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Mark_VII |

So philr, based on the interior door panel thumbnail, which year range is this P.A.? |
◊ 2010-09-17 05:36 |
@rjluna2 thanks for that, I knew it was somewhere in that range... Makes me wonder why the 84 and 85 honda civics had sealed beams then as it was supposed to be because the composite headlights were not allowed in the US |
