well.... you could buy it, It's called the Toyota Hilux in the UK, and now it should be less than several thousand USD and the parts alone would be sort of cheap... I'd estimate it at $7K USD in 2006. What's funny is that my father has a similar truck.

It appears the truck received new license plates after the first movie

How would that thing cost $7k USD in 2006 (unless it's like in super mint never driven condition)? Didn't it sell for $4k USD in 1986?

Well, a top of the line (something this truck undoubtedly was at the time) '88 Toyota Pickup originally listed for $15,018, so I'd guess this truck was in the $14,000 range. Seven grand is probably a little high, but not absolutely out of the question for this truck in amazing condition

Highly sought after by the Off-Road crowd in the U.S. Due to the Solid front axle, 84 and 85 were the only years for solid front axles on Toyota Pickups in the US. After that they went to a less durable, but better riding independent front suspension. Mid 80's toyota pickups also had the available option of fuel injection, and a Turbo. They typically came with a 22R or 22RE(fuel injected) 2.4 liter four cylinder. A V-6 became availble later, but was not nearly as reliable as the 22R. These trucks can be had for around $3,000.00 if you don't mind doing some work. Or if you want one with low miles in original condition or near mint be prepared to shell $5,000 to $8,000 depending on condition and options. They get that kind of money because they are a well engineered vehicle, and when maintained properly they routinely go well over the 200,000 mile mark with the original drive train. I doubt many of today's pickups will do the same.

the ghost is correct however the title of this pic is wrong. this truck was not an SR5 and not the original truck on the rollback in the first movie. this truck does not have the SR5 seats or the power windows. you can see the seats have the different darker head rests and sail windows typical of the manual set-up. also on this truck it has twin tube roll bar and the first had a single roll bar this being said the supposed two trucks part 1 85 SR5 Xtra-cab and the 85 Xtra-cab DX in 2 & 3, are both 1985 models they both have the EFI badge on the B-pillars and both have solid front axles. 1985 was the pinnacle of the American toyota hi-lux. first year for fuel injection and the last year for the solid front axle. and i am a proud new owner of a black 1985 SR5 xtra-cab 4X4 toyota with 304065 miles on the "clock"

This is something to consider: in BTTF Part I, the Toyota truck has the word “TOYOTA” in vinyl across the tailgate.

However, in Part III, it’s completely gone. It’s not even in a smaller font on the bottom-right corner like I’ve seen on some Toyota trucks from that era.

So what does that say? Did they take an older (by then 5-6 years old) Toyota truck and just repaint it black? Also, we haven’t heard from “Statler Toyota” since Part I. Maybe Toyota didn’t want them to use their name in the second and third movies?

I wonder if Marty's truck had a posi-traction rear? It has the naturally-aspirated 22RE 4-cyl engine, which was underpowered but still a great engine. I'm also wondering if this particular truck had air-conditioning.

How this piece of junk can be considered as good gift?

When you are a teenager with no car, any vehicle is a good gift, especially a brand new truck (according to the plot)
