That is Brazilian water-cooled engine for the Mexican market. Known as T2c. Must be brand new, 1996. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Type_2#T2c -- Last edit: 2010-02-17 23:24:14 |

Oops my bad. This one doesn't have the raised roof style. So, Mexican version with water cooled engine starting 1988. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Combi#T2 |

1992+ front grille and mirrors. 1991 brochure (Chile) https://www.veoautos.cl/volkswagen-kombi-catalogo-ano-1991/ 1992: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/92bug_mexico/page10.jpg https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/92bug_mexico/page9.jpg |

Another change that occured sometime between 1996 and 2001 is that early T2c have “accordion” style mirror arms, later ones have more of a feminine “curled wrist” 1991: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/91bugbus_mexican/page9.jpg 2001: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/2001comm_mexico/page10.jpg So the new mirrors already came in 91, not 92. (10/90 brochure) 88s still had the old mirrors and…I couldn’t find an 89 or 90 brochure. |
