Looks like 1977 version of Stallion trim due to black toned at the bottom of the car.

Re-reading the Collectible book, I also found this trim level also available as Mach 1. Sorry [:shy]

This cannot be a '77, the movie was made in 1975!

Doesn't grille look recessed?
If so, 1974.

I am armed with a better knowledge here.

1974 model year only due to the gas cap position.

Please list this as Mach 1 instead due to black paint at lower side area.

Grille is hard to tell due to small size and blur, but the gas cap is visible and on this one the low position definitively makes it 1974.

There are only two special trim packages for the Mustang II that were encoded in the VIN. Ghia and Mach 1. The Stallion, Pony, Cobra II, King Cobra etc can only be definitively determined if the car is original, by the buck tag screwed to the radiator support, if it hasn't been lost, or by paying for a "Marti Report" that includes a replica print of the original window sticker. When Ford was cleaning out their closets to get rid of all their 1970's paperwork, some guy bought all the production records for the Mustang II. Send him your VIN and a bunch of money and you'll get back the print with what your Mustang II was originally.

Way back when the vinyl decals were still available from Ford, they wouldn't sell the Mach 1 ones to you unless you showed them the VIN as proof it was a Mach 1. If you wanted the Cobra II or King Cobra stuff, no problem because the dealers didn't have access to the warehoused paper records to tell which II's were anything special other than Mach 1 or Ghia.
