Possibly 1931 Bentley 4/8-Litre Four Seater Le Mans Replica? Needs confirmation as I'm not at all certain but it possibly meets the description of one of the few cars of the era sold at the Goodwood 2006 event. http://www.motorbase.com/profiles/picture/index.ehtml?i=220490395 As sold by Bonhams for £210,500 registered 'GP 7767' chassis No. VA4076, engine No. VA4078. Built in the style of the Bentley Le Mans racing cars, constructed on an original 4-litre Bentley chassis, one of just 50 4-litre chassis ever built, this one being on the short 11ft 2" wheelbase. The chassis originally carried Gurney Nutting saloon coachwork and was delivered new to its first owner, a Mrs Murphy, in July 1931. -- Last edit: 2010-01-13 19:19:23 |
