The main pic seems to be set in Italy. In Europe the production of the Ami 8 Break started in September 1969. I don't know when these multi-colour license plates were introduced, though. |

Italian plates had area prefixes in orange between 1976 and 1985. After that, plates had black text on a white background. http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/jpglps/EU_Italy_GI1.jpg I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Naples scenes were faked in Buenos Aires. The architecture in this shot doesn't look very Italian. -- Last edit: 2010-01-08 23:40:42 |

called "club" in Argentina, not "break" |

That's interesting (and strange): in Europe the Club name was used for the luxury models. |

My father has an identical, said Ami 8 Club. Also, I went to the garage to see if it was correct, and yes, says Ami 8 Club -- Last edit: 2010-09-12 23:57:52 |

But still, there might have been a luxury version of the standard Break, called Club. I won't say you're wrong, but it is quite a surprise for me to read that Citroën used the name Club to indicate the wagon version. But with Citroën one can never be sure |

To me in Argentina they had only the wagon, hence it was called just "Ami 8" and Club was the trim level same like in EU. Edit: there was also an Elysee later - http://www.cocheargentino.com.ar/c/citroen.htm#ami8 -- Last edit: 2010-09-13 00:05:00 |

Unfortunately, at this moment I have no camera to take a picture of the car, but I can, I send a picture to see it. The Elyssé Ami 8 was the last manufactured in Argentina. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-13 00:10 |
Indeed, only the first Ami 8 made here, were "Ami 8" only (at least in the logo). But mostly they said "Ami 8 Club" and then the Elysee to the end of manufacture. |

The point is how to treat this. Does it indicate the body version? No really, as there was only one. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-13 00:13 |
No, just indicate the "club" in italic. But sure here the name "break" not used. |

Before the discussion escalates more and more, my question, if there is possibility, where this scene was filmed finally? In Italy or in Argentina as an Italy-fake? As Gag wrote, maybe someone can recognize the architecture, maybe even the location. Wouldn't this solve all the identifiction-problems? |

ingo, the Ami 8 in the picture is equal to the thumbnail. The miniature is clearly in Buenos Aires. Even here the first Ami 8, did not have that bumper so bound, but just bump rubbers. And the discussion was not the place of manufacture, but it should be "club" (he called that here) rather than "break." Even seeing the walkway, in some neighborhood of Buenos Aires seems somewhat away from the center, because she looks worn out and the buildings are quite common. I do not live in Buenos Aires, and i can not say exactly which neighborhood may be, but say it is one of the most traditional of the city. -- Last edit: 2010-09-14 03:10:55 |
