'66+ Ford Falcon Futura ? |
◊ 2010-01-01 17:41 |
At least the profile do match to second generation Ford Falcon... |

Too small for a Falcon. I think it's a Taunus of some sort. -- Last edit: 2010-05-25 22:29:45 |

What about the British Ford Zephyr/Zodiac? |
◊ 2010-05-25 23:52 |
No it's too short for a Zephyr/Zodiac and I think it's a 2 door. |

Local version of the Taunus P7a?? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-17 18:28 |
never built the Taunus in Mexico |

And nothing ist P7a-like. AFAIK the P7a was built only for one year and only in Köln (maybe in Belgium, too). There were no derivates of it anywhere in the world, of the successor P7b neither. A time ago I've seen P7a-based hearse, standing at a used-car-dealer in the town of Duisburg. For sure I've contacted Animatronixx immediately. But he already had known the car. The nerd's world is small... |

Nothing to do with this car, but as a nerdic gem, here is a RHD UK spec 20M P7b - http://www.winlinton.co.uk/ford20m.htm . |

Just last week I've learned, that the P7b was indeed sold on the UK-market - when I got my latest eBay-catch Link to "cgi.ebay.de" |

I've been trying to track down how Taunuses were sold in the UK for a few months. They were not sold through normal dealers, but there was an office in London which could provide any Ford from around the world which was not sold in the UK as a special order/personal import, but I assume these were provided in source country spec (ie LHD for Taunuses). There was also a dealer in Bristol - Winterstoke Garages - who advertised P7a and P7b Taunuses in RHD; I have no idea whether these were factory sourced as RHD or special conversions carried out in Bristol. The only time I have seen RHD Taunuses was a set of 3 RHD derelicts (2 P7b and 1 P7a) in an overgrown garden in Sheffield 20+ years ago - which mixed saloons and coupes, though I can't remember now the combination apart from the P7a being blue and none of them were RS. The photos of the Winlinton car show a very convincing conversion for dash and other interior details. Anyway, if all my comments about this car being a Taunus are wrong, what sort of Ford is it? Is it the 66+ Ford Falcon Futura which was first suggested before I caused confusion? |

Sorry, but there are only technical informations about the cars, no company-addresses as in the "auto katalog". I've just checked it. |

It's more probably a Mustang? |
◊ 2010-09-19 03:01 |
It may not be a Taunus, but I can not see it as being significantly bigger than a Taunus. A Mustang would be too big. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-19 03:05 |
Not too big the Mustang. Sure? For me, its more probably a Mustang then Taunus. |

Update on RHD Taunus P7b - http://www.enfostuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=839 which has a link to more info, but I can't open it ..... |

The linked site has disappeared and the domain name has been taken over by a domain squatter. |

If anyone wants to re-assert local-build Falcon, I won't argue now. |
◊ 2016-02-28 02:23 |
According to the IMDb, this was filmed in Mexico. |
