The T2 bus was called Clipper on homemarket when it was introduced, don´t know when the name was dropped though. This could of course also be a Kombi.

Edit, from 1971, at least,Kleinbus is used again: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/71germanfullline/9.jpg

And from 1973 models the name Bus is used on homemarket: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/73bus/Seite20.jpg

With side windows it was usually called Bus. As "Clipper" is known a better equipped edition.

Due the blue-grey paint, a basic colour for no extra charge, I think, it's rather a Bus. Clipper mostly had metallic or two-tone paint.

When these were introduced I think VW attempted to give them a modelname for the first time, instead of just call them Small Bus or Eightseater, so they called them Clipper/Clipper L. I suppose it wasn´t successful since Kleinbus reappeared after a few years. Among people in general I suppose they´ve been called simply Bus for a long time before VW used it in their printings. For homemarket I havn´t seen it used before 1973 modelyear. It´s used on some other markets, Holland used the name Bus/Bus de Luxe in the mid sixties on the T1´s but from T2 models they use Kleinbus/Kleinbus L

Ah yes, you can read it on the last two linked pages of the brochure. The "Clipper" was the luxoury version of the "Bus" (or "Kleinbus") with several extras. The regular "Bus" was at least naked.

There have almost always been two versions available of the "Bus", a standard one and a De Luxe version. In the brouchure above it´s the standard version shown, and it´s called Clipper. The De Luxe version is just mentioned in the text on last page, it´s called Clipper L and it´s told that it´s equipped with sliding roof. The other interior features goes for the regular Clipper as well to keep it apart from the plain Kombi with seats.
