The uglier and more gaudy the better. You couldn't find too many production cars tht would have this much of an impact. If they used a normal car it probably wouldn't have much attention as the Truckster did. (i.e. The location of the gas filler or the airbag that went off at odd times).

You mean like this one…? I can actually picture in my mind, seeing Clark driving something like that… along with all the crazy things he would do to it and with it. If I remember well, for the French version they stupidly translated that by the equivalent of "sports car", which was somewhat not logical for a family car... Sure, it could carry alot of gear, drove fairly well, but, when Barris got a hold of it, and made the "the family truckster", they turned something already awful into something alot worse. Better still, didn't anyone find it odd that the second set of headlights/tailights never worked?
