But some scenes (the desert, presumably) were filmed in Namibia.

The windscreen has what I assume is a Namibian tax disc - compare /vehicle_237930-Nissan-Patrol.html

Sorry for misunderstanding, my question was, if the scene shall be set in Israel, so it's a faked Israelian car. The real location is Namibia for sure and nor Israel - the Negev desert is very different than the Namib desert.

A LHD-car is quite rare in the Southern African states, but you can see some anyways, mainly private imports from Europe.

Anyway, it's odd that the producers would go all the way to Namibia for a car chase. I've no idea how much transporting a film crew costs, but for a desert location they could have gone to southern Spain as the spaghetti Western directors did.

Namibia and South Africa are very popular for TV- and movie-productions, incl. commercials and music-videos, because the weather is always good, with very clear air due the dry climate. And the prices are very low. I've heard, too, that the taxes for production companies are low, compared with other countries, because they want to entice the companies to go there.

When we had made our vacations there in 2006, we've seen the making of that great piece of culture:
/movie_884001-Afrika-Wohin-mein-Herz-mich-tragt.html :/

and later on we've seen a convoi of many Audi Q7, some VW EOS and Audi A8 on the way to the making of photos for brochures, perhaps for clips, too.

Yeah, Namibia seems to be especially popular with German producers. I was just surprised that they'd go there just for one scene.
