Circa 1960 Hansa 1100, isn't it ? |

Looks like it |

It's rather a Goliath GP 700 1950-1957. |

The Goliath is smaller and has got a different grille |

I'll mix your brains. Same car is here: /vehicle.php?id=265645 And I think it's not Hansa but 1957 Goliath 1100. Why? In true Hansa 1100 is rebadged, minor facelifted Goliath 1100 with extra "cadillacish" tail-wings. Main dimensions are identical. (BTW, Carfolio give wrong Hansa 1100 wheelbase). Hansa 1100 was my first thought. But she didn't fit! Goliath 1100 fits perfect. Some jewellery missed here (lack of vertical trademark element on grill). But grill shape, lower (than Hansa) side strips line, and extra chrome strip over windshield (typical for Goliath not Hansa) is hard proof. http://www.borgwardclub.nl/modellen/goliath/1100.htm -- Last edit: 2009-12-28 15:00:16 |

Very nice pics, 130Rapid! But still I'm a bit puzzled by the grille... The one in 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' looks different: no frame, and no central vertical bar. Nevertheless this one clearly has Goliath writing on the bonnet. -- Last edit: 2009-12-28 15:01:23 |

I know, this nice rustie hasn't few jewellery elements. But side strips reposition and changing whole grill is much harder than screwing/cutting off some badges and strips. Goliath/Hansa 1100 was made 1957-1963. Goliath era was 1957-1959, Hansa 1959-1963. -- Last edit: 2009-12-28 15:31:09 |

Here is the other view of it: I did not see that it was already listed (though that I searched for it) Indeed that seemed strange to me. For sure a fake-crappy-car used on movie sets... -- Last edit: 2009-12-28 20:04:12 |

Little summary [what we see here]: 1. Roof strip over windshield [thumbrial photo] <07/1959. Disappeared in later cars. 2. One straight chrome strip/slat mounted in the perfect middle of each side panels <07/1958. Cars made 08/1958-07/1959 had "wave" side strips. :P And got "Hansa" badges. 07/1959-1963 straight strips came back. But were mount a bit (+/-1") higher. 3. Radiator grill with 5 horizontal ribs <07/1959. +08/1959 cars had grill with 8 ribs. To the end. Two main problems: 1. Lack of vertical trademark badge on grill. 2. I can't see side-windows chrome slats under roof. (Maybe simply disappeared, like in blue-violet wreck?) 3. .....? It's possible to saw Goliath 1100 in US. About 50 dealers sold circa 1000 cars here. What else? -- Last edit: 2009-12-28 20:57:19 |
