Definitely not a clubman as it has the smaller rearbumpers and no sliding rear side windows it must be mini95 or minivan

The Minivan had no windows in the cargo hold. Probably it's the Austin Countryman or the Morris Traveller (depending
brand).

:wow: strange that it dosnt say if its Austin or Morris. Is it somthing in the code XLV1 that can clearify that ? (or mabe XLV1 = eXtra Large Van 1)

Can't explain XLV1, but a couple of comments. By 1976, would be just Mini - no Austin or Morris name applied. Also by 1976, the choice is only a van with windows or a Clubman estate - no ordinary front Traveller/Countryman made after Oct 69. This looks modified (wide arches) but can't tell from photo if van with windows or Clubman with trim and badges removed.

Could '46' mean anything for this Mini? XLVI = 46...

Late Mini vans were named Mini 95 in UK for their gross vehicle weight of 0.95 tons (=0.94 tonnes). Any other metric equivalent which might give 46 units? Could be load capacity - is 460kgs likely?

The 'XLV1' is no more than the initial letters from the chassis number. I remember that 'Biltilsynet' as it was once named had the habit of doing so, thus seperating trim levels or vehicle groups from others.

@dsl:
Going from microfiche and paper files to computers and digital files, there seems to have been added 'BMC' as make. Is this something to justify altering this page?

BMC (British Motor Corporation) merged with Leyland group in 1968 to form British Leyland, so was several years obsolete by 76. As far as I know BMC branding was not used for cars, only some trucks and vans for a short period up to 69 which were then rebranded Leyland. Accepting that some individual European markets kept non-UK branding for 2-3 years after 1970 (eg some Austin Mini 1000 Mk3 instead of just Mini 1000 Mk3), but I just don't see BMC being used by 76 as an official title. So I don't think page should be altered, but interested if anyone knows different.
