It's an Austin A55 (MkI), 1957-1959: it has the chrome grille surround, protruding headlight bezels, the snazzy chrome side strip and the enlarged boot, which were the main features of the facelift from the A40/A50. |

Yes and no, the basic designation for various four-cylinder models was "Cambridge" - there are many more pre- and postwar Cambridge models other than the A55. (Its counterpart from the Morris brand was called "Oxford"!) The A40, A50, A55 types are merely to distinguish between the differences in engine configuration: 40, 50, 55 horsepower, respectively. When the Pininfarina-designed Cambridge A55 MkII came about (later updated to become the A60, with indeed 60 bhp), the old A55 became unofficially known as "pre-Farina" or "MkI", the new MkII as "Farina". All larger models, with a six cylinder engine, were generically known as "Westminster". So you have the pre-Farina Westminster A90, A95, A105, and the Farina Westminster A99, A110 models! The A105 actually has two different body shapes! First the A105 was an A90 with more power, and when the A90 was updated to become the A95 (just like the A50 became the A55 MkI), the A105 was an A95 with more power!
