That looks to be a Jensen factory owned number plate. I've seen several publicity shots with EA as the 2nd two letters. Perhaps after the Jensen CV8 designer Eric Neale.

Probably a factory plate, yes, but Jensens were made in West Bromwich and EA was a West Brom registration.

Absolutely a factory plate. Chris is quite right, the EA does not relate in any way to Eric Neale (who had by this time left Jensen, as had the Jensen brothers themselves around the time of the Interceptor launch in 1966). EA relates to the local county registration designation, which was EA for cars registered in the borough of Sandwell, West Bromwich.

In an attempt to drive cost effective public awareness, Sales and Marketing Director Richard 'Dick' Graves and public relations consultant Tony Goode often made a number of vehicles available for TV and movies - though not always the best movies it has to be said!

Press Interceptors usually (but not exclusively) had 'EA1' (i.e. TEA1G - the Flag Red Interceptor photographed above) plates, whilst FF's usually had EA4 plates, such as HEA4D, the '4' designating that the car was equipped with Ferguson Formula 4 wheel drive.
