Very nice! :) I guess it is the first on the site...
Reminds me of the story of two firemen. In September 1971 they bought one of these, dating from 1960 and used for 200.000 kms already. They had $ 350,- and they decided to go to Sweden, to buy Swedish safety matches.. They travelled via Chili, Peru, Equador, Colombia, Panama, Costa-Rica, Nigaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and 19 US states. To earn money for shipping the car to Hamburg they showed the car on a New York exhibition. From Hamburg via Denmark they reached Sweden in 1974, where they bought a box of matches. To keep it cheap they stayed with fireman-colleagues, not in hotels.
They continued their trip to Norway, Finland, Germany and France. After 240.000 kms they got a big check by Citroën. Then they continued: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Tunesia, Marocco. Algeria. They stranded in Agadir (the car was loaded too much with all the souvernirs). But they bought another 2CV from the scrapyard, built them together so they had a driving car again, and continued to Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Kamerun, Zaire and Ruanda and they got troubles with the engine, with their health and with the police in Uganda. Anyway, after they were escorted by the army to the border, they continued: Kenia, Tanzania and Malawi. Then they get back to Paris, where they arrive in 1980. The car gets a big overhaul, and they left, direction Yemen. Don't know wether they are still travelling around, though.

Adventure like these 2CV trips to Africa, or even much bigger. Indeed interesting, only one thing I do not understand. Why firemen needed those Swedich matches?! :D

Btw. I listed it as 2CV, but finally I'm not sure is it a correct name in this case. In this list there is nothing about the 2CV name, only "codes" in sort of "AZAM": Link to "automovileschilenos.blogspot.com"
:/

@Weasel: it's nicer to travel, if you have a reason for it. :)

I would like to make such a trip with my K 70 and visiting other K 70-owners. But there aren't not enough for that. :(
