US-Ford Escort? |

More like a Mercury Tracer if anything. |

The profile seems to be plausible |

No way, that is not a Tracer at all. |

It is my understanding that the Mercury Tracer was available in station wagon version. Looks like the first generation... Please point me out if I am wrong. |

The Tracer was available as a wagon, but it never looked like this. I believe this is something Japanese or Korean. |

The original 1988-1989 Mercury Tracer was a rebadged version of the Mazda 323 / Ford Laser, and was unrelated to the Escort. It's hard to find a good rear view of the wagon version, but here are a couple Tracer wagons on CarDomain for comparison: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/188477 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2246982 I think this is a 1988-1989 Tracer. |

I agree, Mercury Tracer Wagon |

Yeah this sort of resembles the 1988 Mercury Tracer my dad had, that one was a hatchback with different taillights, but this has the same back window and sides. |

The only thing that I could draw my conclusion that most Mercury series has all red taillight whereas some Ford have both red and amber taillight. That is why I was considering if this is Mercury Tracer... |

There was no Ford version of this model in the US. |

I agree with Mercury Tracer. |

Definitely 1988 Mercury Tracer. I have one. |

Arizona EHH 088 confirms '88. Also Canada did not have access to this wagon. |
