It’s a 1980 model. The grille trim incased the turn signal lamps for 1979. For 1980, the grille work changed ever so slightly (the center grille line which supported the center GMC emblem became thinner than the center grille line for 1979) This grille is unique to 1980 models. At this time, Sierra was just a trim level, along with other trims levels like Sierra Classic and High Sierra. Therefore it doesn’t go in the vehicle’s model name field box.
