Most likely that this has been made for film only. My sole reference is from a company renting out film equipment including old vehicles.

I think we need a category "Made for film" where in 'extra info' we can say e.g. made by whom or based on what.

Hmm - it remembers me of a certain WWII vehicle (Ford?). But IIRC this one showed wasn't a vehicle owned by the Polizia dello Stato. They had Chevrolet Staghounds.

Do you know who converted the Ford M8 Greyhound? It must have been a bigger job, as the wheelbase was lengthened. I think it would be good to add that information.

it must be a commercial Italian bodybuilder converting them for the police..this is one of 2 identical vehicles on IMCDB, so they cant be made for movie.

Where's the other one? "Made for movie" doesn't always mean made for the movie it appears in.

Can't be an M8 Greyhound. Those were rear-engined and the venting plus closeable hatch at the front for this vehicle suggests a front-engine configuration. Makes sense for the mounting of a water tank within the rear compartment.

Seeing how the forward convoy vehicle is a Dodge WC 56, I'd take a stab at this likely being the six-wheeled 1941+ Dodge WC 62 or 63 (the 63 referring to those fitted winch). The dimensions seem to visually match. Dodge never made a production armoured version of these vehicles so that may suggest an Italian firm modifying it into some sort of riot control vehicle. Would take some serious research to prove this though. I just have a hunch that this vehicle looks too "well done" to be a made-for-movie production.
