2491tj ◊ 2009-01-19 15:52	Belgian "Automitrailleuse Minerva".....Belgian Armys first purpose built armoured car c.1914, built using Minerva car chassis fitted with armour made from iron plates off old naval boilers. saw service in WW1 from France to Russia..in 1914 the British were so impressed when they saw Belgians in Minerva armoured cars attacking the Germans, they quickly followed suit, making their own car based armoured cars...the Belgians are probably credited with being the first armed force to use purpose made "armoured cars".
