I cannot think of a British truck like this from the time of the movie. Not Bedford TM, Ford Transcontinental, Seddon, ERF etc. Possibly European-continental maker? It could well be American (Mack? White?) Before joining the EU I remember Spanish and Greek operators often ran American trucks, usually with front axles moved back to follow European practice. This looks American to me. |

The trailer is not that unusual for the UK. Although I cannot remember when they were first introduced they were and still are used for transporting live sheep on two decks. The narrow slots on the side are for ventilation. |

I'll allow as how it might be a Volvo F88, but I thought the front corners were too rounded. I immediately thought of a White Road Commander, but that was too recent. The trailer is of a type used in UK and Europe for years, for the transport of sheep or pigs. -- Last edit: 2008-11-12 22:56:50 |
