The Louisiana State Police pick up Sheriff JW Pepper after his squad car is destroyed (a boat smashes into it). Pepper leads the State Troopers (3 Bel Airs and 1 Chevelle Malibu) on a chase after the speedboats. When the boats leap out of the water and cut across the road, the cars crash.

Without seeing the back end, it's either a '73 Bel Air or Impala, probably a Bel Air.

The back end can be seen in the 6th thumbnail (it's the car that's upside down).

From 1970 to 1989, the colour scheme for the marked patrol cars in the Louisiana State Police were white and red with the red light bars before changing to black and gold with the new blue light bars and then back to white and red again.

The only difference is that the patrol cars have the blue light bars instead of the red light bars.

The Louisiana State Police used all-white cars for 1977, with red lightbars and red department decals; a paint option still in use today.
