Yes, its a Henry J. I think its 1951/1952. Could be either a vagabond or corsair -- Last edit: 2008-06-25 03:52:52 |

It's a 1951 model. In 1952 the rear lights moved to the tailfins, except on the Vagabond, which were 1951 left-overs decorated with a continental kit. But in 1951 the names Corsair and Vagabond weren't used - it was just Standard [K513] with a 4-cylinder engine and DeLuxe [K514] with a 6-cylinder engine. I think there was a difference in rubber/chrome frames for windscreen and rear window, this one seems to have chrome. Theoretically it also could be one of circa 2000 cars sold by Sears during 1952 and 1953 under the name Allstate, which were merely identical to the Henry J... |

Yes, good point. I had forgotten that Sears sold the Henry J under the Allstate name - You could order it from their catalog LOL. |

It is definitely a 1951 Henry J deluxe. DynaMike is correct. Early 1952 Allstate cars had the tail lights in the same location the 1951 Henry J did but they had an Allstate logo (shape of a map of the US) on the deck lid where this one does not appear to have that. The fact that it has bumper gaurds and stainless moulding around the rear windshield indicates it is a deluxe (K514) model. The "Corsair" monicker was not used till 1952. -- Last edit: 2012-01-15 04:30:10 |

Actually, trunk lids were available pretty early in the 1951 model year, December 1950 to be exact. There are a lot of 1951 Henry Js, both deluxe and standard, which have a trunk lid. -- Last edit: 2017-06-11 03:53:32 |
