The number plate looks as if it could be a real West German one. |

Could be real I guess but you can clearly se where the American plate has been. |

Indeed. I didn't think that it was the car's real plate, just that they'd perhaps got a genuine plate from somewhere. |

They used obviously an original, but invalid plate (the registration-sticker is scratched off). It's also a front one (on the back plate is the TÜV-sticker). Also the Red Cross had/has usually other combinations on their plates, often with green letters for tax-free cars. Last, but not least: PB is from Paderborn - but the airport Paderborn/Lippstadt was openend in 1971. |
