Mercedes, most probably a 230 W153. Ironically, this movie car has the seats from a post-war W110-111-112 fitted. The original had a bench seat. |

170 has a much narrower and generally more 'flimsy' architecture, as well as a very prominent positive camber of the rear wheels and a more rounded roof contour above the windscreen. I therefore doubt that it is a 170. Furthermore, the car in the pic has horizontal bonnet moldings, so it could also be an errant post war 220 trying to sell itself off as a 39-43 230. Wartime movies are notorious for featuring post war cars, since war cars are rare for obvious reasons. Where are our Mercedes experts on this? |
