CougarTim wrote What's the blue fastback hiding behind it?

Baube wrote Karmann Ghia ? not at all..

dsl wrote Little blue was suggested as NSU Sport Prinz here. As it's now been called twice, it could qualify for a page??

993cc wrote Doesn't look like rear engine vents or fins
[Image: sportprinz.jpg]

dsl wrote As my comment on the other page with Prinz suggestion, I can see it as a possible rather than definite. But here's a truly wildly incredible idea - Tornado Talisman
[Image: tornadotalisman1962.jpg]
- only 189 made, and I can't find any trace anywhere of them reaching US, but if anyone wants to share my madness, it would be our first one ....

CougarTim wrote Talisman doesn't seem right, there're no fins. I thought about Fiat 850 but there are no vents in the rear deck. Maybe a Glas 1700 GT/BMW 1600 GT? [Image: glas-1700-gt-coupe-100-155253.jpg]

dsl wrote Not Fiat 850. Glas is listed in Standard Catalog for US as 1300 GT, 1700 GT and the reincarnation as BMW 1600 GT, with a named Californian distributor. Road & Track tested a 1700 GT in 1965 with the comment that it was sold briefly. implying other Glases ere not actually available, despite being listed. Maybe Glas is the best punt so far (I'd like to find a Talisman, but it's not very plausible here), but whatever this is, the 3 tabled suggestions point to something very unusual in US ...

CougarTim wrote According to this article on Hemmings, generally a reputable source - https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/1964-67-glas-1300-gt-1700-gt - "Fewer than 300 1700 GT coupes were officially imported to America in 1966-'67" and only 5 BMW 1600 GT. I have not found any hard evidence any 1300 GTs came here officially, and as a general rule Americans like bigger engines anyway.

993cc wrote Glas 1700 for now and bookmark it if something better comes up? Have to say that *maybe* main pic car has larger rear window?

993cc wrote So.. inconclusive? Or just too far away or too little shown for a page

dsl wrote I vote for a page - if it's a Glas it's a useful marker for US presence, and if it's not it's there for future conjecture and investigation.

993cc wrote +1 vote for the rarity
