Maybe Animatronixx can identify the coachbuilder.
It´s probably built in the northern parts of Sweden due to it´s licenseplates deriving from the area around Sundsvall.

Wow! That´s something special. Thanks a lot for these pics! Never heard about that movie (and according to imdb this is hardly surprising).

If this hearse once was built like we see it here, I´m quite sure it was a one-off. I´m a bit confused by the heavy roof ornamentation, which could very well have been made for the movie. It looks quite outdated for a post-war vehicle with it´s four body mounted columns and stuff.

Anyway, I can only venture a guess. The lower body incl. rear door styling reminds me of a company named "Bil & Traktor" of Boden/ Luleå, whose hearse styling (minus the roof construction) sometimes looked similar. Tranås Wagnfabrik would be another idea, but they were located in Southern Sweden.

Could it be an Panel van or similar instead of a cutted sedan?

I´ll try to trace the history on this one. If the funeral home is still existing they might know.

It looks real to me, even if it´s slightly outdated for a postwar hearse. There are a few surviving Volvos that were converted to hearses in the late thirties. They have ornamentation similar to this one, so a conservative customer might still have wanted this look even right after the war.
But most of all it looks to be too well crafted to have been done by the moviemakers. It´s a terrible lowbudget movie, to say the least...

It´s probably not made on a commercial chassis, these conversions were usually made on sedans.
