Apparently only one Khamsin was sold new in HK - a brown automatic, chassis 353, but there's some uncertainty about exact info - see here - "AM120.353 - 1977, bronze/black, auto., 1977 delivered new to Hong Kong? 2000 with Dilip Sen -Perth/Australia. It is no longer that colour though: it is in a sort of Burgundy now." but another arrived chassis 339, also described as brown auto - now has UK plate AFG 341S "Brown met, black auto Hong Kong for a number of years, in 1988 owned by Thomas Lo, brought to UK by current owner in 1995. Originally born in Rosso Cordoba, the colour had been changed to a metallic brown ... " - now silver. Which matches this sales notice - " (AM120339), confirmed by the Maserati Classiche documentation which accompanies it. Manufactured in January 1977, it was exported to Hong Kong when new. Out of the 70 right-hand-drive cars built, only 16 were specified with an automatic gearbox and only two were sent to Hong Kong. The current owner lived in Hong Kong for some years and bought the car while there from another Englishman in 1993, repainted to silver in 2004. Rosso Cordoba seems to be a dark red, like our picture, so I think we probably have AM120*339 - which depending who to believe was sold new in HK, or arrived in HK after early life in UK. As its ID in the sales ad is confirmed by the Maserati Classiche, I guess we can trust it as sold new to HK. -- Last edit: 2021-10-05 13:17:54
